Biography
tuesday’s child is a rock band playing their own music. It is almost impossible to “box” exactly what it is that tuesday’s child play - the music reflects a complete mixture of many different styles of music that results in a distinctive but almost indefinable sound.
tuesday’s child are:
Lois - vocals and guitar. Lois has been playing at the different Cape Town Music Clubs for a while, playing acoustic rock. She started writing songs shortly after becoming blind, and continues to write most of the lyrics and a little of the music for tuesday’s child.
Mike Gowen - lead guitar Mike has been playing guitar with tuesday’s child for almost 2 years, and writes most of the music within the band. He previously played guitar in the Cape Town-based band, Impressing the Hedge.
Craig Strachan - bass Craig is one of the founding members of tuesday’s child, when he and Lois used to perform as an acoustic duo. He formerly played bass in the Cape Town-based band Elephant Sun, who received radioplay with tracks off their album, Perceptions.
tuesday’s child recorded a five track demo ‘Following Light’ in June 2001. Although it achieved some success, it is not a true reflection of their sound, and they plan to record their debut album sometime during 2003.
tuesday’s child have been playing extensively in Cape Town over the past few months.
